Secretary General of UN Ban Ki-Moon Kicks Off Real Madrid vs Levante match

The Secretary General of the United Nations took advantage of his presence in Spain’s capital city to attend the game in the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. As part of his agenda in Spain, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon yesterday met young people from the Spanish and European Youth Councils to mark the One Thousand days leading to the target date for achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in 2015.

Before the start of the match between Real Madrid and Levante, Ban Ki-moon went out on the green at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium to perform the ceremonial kickoff. The Secretary General of the UN is in Spain for the spring meeting of United Nations Chief Executives Board (CEB) and was on hand in the stadium to watch the 30th Spanish League match.
