Didier Drogba Presents Commemorative Rings to Champions League Winning Chelsea Side
By SENATUS News | 11 December 2012

Didier Drogba has been back in London, training with his old teammates at Chelsea in an effort to stay fit for the Africa Cup of Nations next month. On Thursday night, he hosted a special dinner where he presented last season's Champions League winning players and backroom staff with commemorative rings.

According to the Independent, the Super Bowl-style rings cost Drogba a total of about £800,000 (a mere four weeks of his Shanghai wages). The scheduling of the party for the day after Chelsea became the first reigning champions to be eliminated from the Champions League in the group stage the following season apparently wasn't a coincidence either, as Drogba set up the dinner to "raise spirits."
