Injured Olympia

2012 is an Olympic year. At this very moment thousands of athletes from more than 200 nations are using their muscles; stretching, flexing, raw power, used till the very edge, and even beyond the allowable.

Olympians overuse their muscles to reach the ultimate honor and pride: a gold medal. But most of them fail: myalgia, inflamed joints, swollen muscles. Pain. INJURY!

I was inspired for this collection by the darker side of sports; Injured Olympia. Sporty materials were juxtaposed with rough textures; Swollen details accentuate the garments through the over-sized pockets and sleeves; Silhouettes were taken from an inflamed muscle which are present in the sinuous draping of one particular over-sized jacket and in most sleeves which resemble pumped-up biceps... it’s like dressing on Steroids!!! These looks will not hurt you.

These pieces will turn you into a champion who crossed the allowable limits of fashion...so ready, set, go!!!
