Esther Perbandt Spring Summer 2012 "Format"
By SENATUS Magazine | 26 May 2012

Inspired by her stay in Moscow in 1999, Esther Perbandt follows the steps of Russian avant-garde of the 20th century with her Spring Summer collection 2012. The collection features a stringent handling of shapes, the construction of very graphical elements, as well as the dissolving and release of different forms in fashion.

The film “Format” by Cristian Straub and Esther Perbandt is set in a post-industrial alternate reality where audiences are transported into a strange place between two hemispheres, fallen out of time.

Shot within a generating-station of fictional self-perception, the film brings you through four different chapters, through the eyes of two protagonists while they loose their uniformity to find a new expression (self-reformat).
