Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked “Cactus Jack” Limited Edition
By SENATUS Magazine | 2 August 2024

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked “Cactus Jack” is a limited edition timepiece, born from a unique collaboration between the Swiss manufacture and Cactus Jack, representing a synergy of Haute Horlogerie and pop culture.

The 41 mm case is innovatively crafted from brown ceramic, a material choice echoing Cactus Jack’s signature color and known for its lightness and scratch resistance. The sapphire dial showcases the intricate details of the selfwinding Calibre 5135 movement, enhanced with luminescent coatings that illuminate in blue or green, adding a striking visual effect in low light conditions.

Each component of the watch, from the ceramic elements to the white gold hexagonal screws, has been meticulously finished by hand, showcasing Audemars Piguet’s dedication to craftsmanship. Design elements from Cactus Jack’s visual language are incorporated throughout, including a moon phase indicator at 6 o’clock displaying the brand’s emblematic smiley face. The watch’s functionality is enhanced by the clarity of its calendar and week indications, with typography inspired by Travis Scott’s hand-drawn designs.

Complementing the robust ceramic build is a new textured calfskin leather strap, paired with a pink gold folding clasp inscribed with the signatures of both Audemars Piguet and Travis Scott. Limited to 200 pieces, the caseback and strap feature the engraving “Utopia is a state of mind,” tying back to Scott’s artistic vision.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked “Cactus Jack” not only tells time but also tells a story of collaboration and innovation.
