Chopard Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph French Limited Edition
By SENATUS Editor | 22 July 2024

Chopard celebrates the union of automotive engineering and watchmaking excellence with the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph French Limited Edition. This exclusive 100-piece series, made available only in France, embodies the spirit of the iconic Italian 1000 Miglia race.

Crafted from Chopard’s patented Lucent Steel™, the watch is 50% harder than conventional steel and boasts an 80% recycling rate, underscoring the brand’s commitment to sustainability. The case size, a comfortable 40.5 mm, balances elegance and ergonomics, making the timepiece as suitable for an evening event as it is for the racetrack.

Echoing the historic 1000 Miglia race cars, the watch features a tricolor dial that ensures legibility, essential for high-speed pursuits. The design, personally overseen by Chopard Co-President Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, incorporates the French flag’s colors, while the Grade X1 Super-LumiNova® coated hands and markers ensure visibility in low light conditions. The signature red chronograph seconds hand is a nod to the 1000 Miglia logo, reinforcing the racing heritage.

Furthering the automotive homage, the chronograph’s pushers are knurled to resemble brake pedals, and the crown is notched for better grip, akin to a gear lever. These functional details are complemented by a perforated blue calfskin strap that recalls the feel of driving gloves.

At its heart, the watch houses a COSC-certified self-winding chronograph movement visible through a sapphire crystal case-back adorned with crossed racing and French flags. With a 54-hour power reserve, the watch is poised to perform with precision on and off the track.
