Tod's Presents a New Version of its Iconic Di Bag
By SENATUS Magazine | 1 October 2022

For the Fall/Winter 2022 collection Tod’s Creative Director Walter Chiapponi deconstructs the brand's iconic Di bag and gives it a modern genderless attitude. Playing on the lines of construction he has enlarged the size of the bag making it a multifunctional accessory, expertly crafted from soft, sensual leathers in a variety of colours.

For the Di bag, Tod's uses the most refined materials and precious leathers in a wide color palette that ranges from spice and earth tones, to neutrals, with a few touches of more vivid and festive colors. The artisanal techniques used to create the Di Bag are similar to those used by ancient saddle makers.

Extreme skill and attention to detail is required for the cutting of the leather and the sewing and finishing of each style, as it is meticulously pieced together.

Key features are the signature central-stitched seam and rolled handles, with an "almond-shaped" end, all with hand-painted raw-leather edging. On these, the top zip is adorned with a graceful long leather loop that adds a touch of convenience. The bag is offered in various and versatile sizes, and has an adjustable shoulder strap.

A symbol of craftsmanship and artisan experience gets a bold and colorful makeover for the new millennium.
