Louis Vuitton and Nike "Air Force 1" by Virgil Abloh Exhibition in Singapore
By SENATUS Magazine | 13 June 2022

From 10-19 June 2022, the exhibition Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh will take place at ION² at ION Orchard. Open to the public, the fully digital showcase charts the creative dialogue between Nike and Louis Vuitton envisioned by the Maison’s Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh for the Spring-Summer 2022 collection.

Taking its point of departure in his philosophies, the exhibition Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh offers an in-depth view of the 47 sneakers the designer created through his own inimitable lens. The exhibition will be wrapped in a vivid orange and adorned with a logo fusing those of Louis Vuitton and Nike. Walking around the exhibition, guests will discover through digital screens the creative conceptualisation of all 47 editions of the sneakers, framed by walls painted in the clouds characteristic of Virgil Abloh’s show sets and campaign imagery.

A central digital showcase illustrates the savoir-faire predominant in his work for the Maison and the artisanal merit with which the sneakers were created in Louis Vuitton’s workshop in Fiesso d’Artico. As a way of building bridges between countries and cultures, a graphic globe sculpture, similar to the sculptures displayed in New York, will be on display next to the exhibition. The globe is representative of the unifying motifs Virgil Abloh reiterated in his collections, shows and imagery.
