Hedi Slimane Sues Former Employer Kering
By SENATUS News | 24 June 2016

Hedi Slimane, formerly the creative director of Yves Saint Laurent, has filed a lawsuit against the French fashion label's parent company which was his employer.

Kering confirmed the lawsuit in a statement and clarified the matter as regarding Slimane's non-competition obligation. The company contends that it had lifted the clause at the end of Slimane's contract, leaving him free to work elsewhere without any restrictions, or stipulated "gardening leave".

Instead, Slimane is said to now be requesting that this clause be still applied, so that his time now not working at any other potential competitor should be compensated.
