Louis Vuitton Cruise 2017 in Rio de Janeiro
By SENATUS News | 30 May 2016

Nicolas Ghesquière unveiled a Cruise 2017 collection for Louis Vuitton at the Oscar Niemeyer-designed Niterói Contemporary Art Museum in Rio de Janeiro, drawing inspiration from the city's vibrant art and cultural scene.

The showcase featured splashy color block print motifs on body-con dresses, scuba-style dresses featured cut-out detailing, wetsuit-like collars and longer-length side panels, and wide-lapelled jumpsuits with zips running down the torso, to add to the futuristic silhouettes.

Belted biker jackets with shearling collars worn oversized as dresses and royal blue jacket dresses with racing stripes. Rippling windbreaker jackets and ruffled minidresses were followed by slender sequined scarves to add a disco vibe and finally draped floral dresses layered over sparkly tank tops added a lightness to the collection.

Accessories included the label's signature trunk with a new boombox interpretation as well as gladiator sandals with an athletic twist.
