The 25th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival came to a close on 4 January with a gala awards event, notably with Tom Hanks accepting the chairman's award, Meryl Streep with the Icon Award and Matthew McConaughey with the Achievement Award, Bono with the humanitarian Visionary Award.
